Tullio Monti

Political philosopher, founder of secular associations and activist.

Born in Turin in 1959. Scholar of political philosophy and in particular of liberal-socialist thought and secular culture. Since 1996 he is founder and president of the Liberal-Socialist Circle "Carlo Rosselli" of Turin. In 2005 he is founder and until 2015 president of the Turin Consultation for the Secularity of Institutions, an "umbrella association" that has gathered and networked over 70 associations of Turin and its province and for a decade was the most active cultural institute of secular matrix at the national level. From 2009 to 2016 he is creator, editor and contributor of the quarterly magazine "Quaderni Laici", curated by the Calamandrei Center, the Turin Consultation for the Secularity of Institutions and Freedom and Justice by Gustavo Zagrebelsky for the Waldensian publishing house Claudiana, which in that period constitutes the only political philosophy magazine exclusively dedicated to secular culture. In 2009 he promotes and is president of the Free and Democratic Iran Association, made up of Iranian exiles residing in Piedmont, which supports the Iranian Resistance organized in the NCRI (National Council of Resistance of Iran), chaired by Maryam Rajavi, which actively fights for the fall of the Iranian dictatorial regime.
