Ivano Barbiero

Professional journalist covering news and entertainment.

Born in San Benedetto Po in the province of Mantua, but Turinese by adoption, since he has lived in the Piedmontese capital since the age of three. A professional journalist, he worked for 35 years for Editrice La Stampa (Stampa Sera, La Stampa, Torinosette) writing about Entertainment, News, Theater, Art and Music. For twenty years a crime reporter, from 1980 to 1982 he was President of the Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta Reporters Group. In 2011 he curated the historical photographic exhibition at the Medieval Village of Valentino "Turin, the changing city (1880-1930)", visited by over 180,000 visitors from April to October. A food enthusiast, he grows hot peppers, as well as having numerous specimens of orchids and succulents. He owns a collection of over 350 miniature elephants. As a child he dreamed of repairing bell tower clocks.
