Gianni Alioti
Researcher and activist, expert on the arms industry, disarmament and military-to-civilian conversion.

Born in Genoa in 1952, he is a researcher and activist for The Weapon Watch, an observatory on weapons in European and Mediterranean ports. From the 1970s to 2018 he worked in the metalworkers' union, Fim-Cisl, at various levels of responsibility, from the factory to the international level. He has always dealt with the economic, technological and employment implications of the arms industry, as well as the conversion of these companies from military to civilian. He is co-author of several books and two instant books on military spending and European militarization.
