Alberto Ballerino

Journalist, historian and essayist from the Piedmont area.

He graduated from the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Genoa, professional journalist, editor at the biweekly 'Il Piccolo' from 1995 to 2025. He is president of the Society of History, Art and Archaeology for the provinces of Alessandria and Asti, editor-in-chief of the Journal of History, Art and Archaeology for the provinces of Alessandria and Asti and editor-in-chief of the Quaderno di storia contemporanea, magazine of the Institute for the History of the Resistance and Contemporary Society for the province of Alessandria. He collaborates with the University of Eastern Piedmont for which he has published the essays 'Lanza and the Roman question' in the volume 'Rattazzi and Italian statesmen between history, politics and institutions. New studies on the Risorgimento' (edited by Francesco Ingravalle and Stefano Quirico, Biblioteca Universitaria Claudiana, 2012), 'European federalism, Resistance and Risorgimento in Livio Pivano' in the volume 'Centralization, Decentralization and Federalism: a debate between Italy and Europe (1939-1948)' (edited by Corrado Malandrino and Stefano Quirico, Giuffrè Editore, 2017). In 2016, he won the 'Franco Marchiaro' journalism award.
